In collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the network of Italian Institutes of Culture, the Vico Magistretti Foundation, Study and Museum has presented to a worldwide audience the exhibition for the “Centenary of Vico Magistretti”, to celebrate 100 years since the birth of this great Italian designer and architect, curated by Rosanna Pavoni and Margherita Pellino. The exhibition casts light on sixty years of his career and features his best known architecture and design achievements, some of which have become household items in homes across the world, along with many lesser known projects. His life and work are displayed through many drawings, photographs, projects of houses and buildings, as well as sketches and catalogues of products that have become icons of Italian design.
The travelling exhibition, which has already opened in Cologne, will move to Stockholm, New York, Strasbourg, Metz, Berlin, Prague, Lima and Washington.
The centenary celebrations of the birth of Vico Magistretti herald the events organised to celebrate the Italian Design Day 2020 worldwide, which has been scheduled for 25 March.
