Italy is the protagonist of the Athens Fashion Film Festival, an event dedicated to fashion and cinema now in its second edition. The first day, inaugurated by the Greek Culture Minister Lina Mendoni, was opened by Luca Guadagnino’s short film “The Staggering Girl”, inspired by Valentino’s haute couture collection created by Pierpaolo Piccioli, and by an appreciated masterclass by the Dean of Experimental Centre of Cinematography, Adriano De Santis. The three-day festival, organised with the support of the Italian Embassy in Athens and the Institute of Culture, was included in the winter schedule of the Tempo Forte Initiative. The initiative presented about 100 films and short films dedicated to fashion brands, mainly Italian, focused on innovation and environmental, social and economic sustainability of the sector, themes on which Italy has long been at the forefront.
