The City of Kyiv and the Embassy of Italy join together in underlining the extraordinary commitment and the proximity between Ukraine and Italy in the enormous effort underway to deal with the health emergency, as evidenced by the Town Hall illuminated by the Italian flag as a sign of solidarity! We need initiatives like this one! Our country is working tirelessly, with courage and determination to face an unprecedented crisis,” says the Italian Ambassador to Ukraine, Davide La Cecilia. He stressed “the importance of relations and dialogue between Italy and Ukraine regarding aspects related to the fight against the coronavirus. We have assumed the role of the leading country in the management of the health emergency at a global level.

For this reason, we are sharing the best practices carried out in Italy with several countries of the world, including Ukraine. United we can do it! #We can do it! Mayor Klitschko, for his part, said: ” Kyiv has launched an initiative to support Italy. Many of you have already seen that we have displayed Ukrainian and Italian flags along the Khreshchatyk street. Beginning today and for the next three evenings (Friday to Sunday), the facade of the Town Hall will be illuminated with the Italian flag as a sign of solidarity between our two countries in the fight against the pandemic that the whole world is currently facing. The situation in Italy is tragic. However, Italian doctors and the Italian Civil Defence are today showing real heroism in carrying out their professional mission. We want to express our support for Italy, our support for the Italian people.
