From 6th to 10th October the 10th edition of the Italian Immigration Seminar in Minas Gerais, which this year was inaugurated by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Marina Sereni, will take place online. The main theme of this tenth edition will be the Italian influence in development, culture and sport.
The programme of the Seminar, sponsored by the Italian Consulate in Belo Horizonte, can be downloaded in Italian at this link and includes fourteen meetings, including interviews and debates on the history, culture and influence of Italian immigration in Minas Gerais. All contents will be broadcast live on the Seminar’s YouTube channel.
The international opening table on 6th October, dedicated to the theme “Italy in the world and in Minas Gerais”, was attended not only by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Marina Sereni, but also by the Ambassador of Italy to Brazil, Francesco Azzarello
The closing round table (Saturday 10th October) will be dedicated to cultural diplomacy and will see as speakers the Consul of Italy in Belo Horizonte, Dario Savarese, the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of São Paulo, Michele Gialdroni, and the Professor of Anthropology of Cultural and Gastronomic Heritage of the Tor Vergata University of Rome, Ernesto di Renzo.
The event is organised by the “Ponte entre Culturas” Association, the General Council of Italians Abroad (CGIE), the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF).
