The opening ceremony of the “Marcello in memory of Fellini” Film Festival, organised by the Consulate General of Italy with the collaboration and support of UME Cinemas, took place on 9 September in Chongqing on the occasion of Fare Cinema 2021.
This date with the movies is to celebrate the fourth edition of the Week of Italian Cinema in the World, an initiative of the Foreign Ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.
The protagonist of the festival is Marcello Mastroianni, who we are celebrating 25 years since his death with two of his most brilliant interpretations: La Dolce Vita and 8½.
In his greeting at the opening of the festival the Consul General, Guido Bilancini, recalled the importance of cinema not only as a symbol and emblem of its own society, but also as a factor for historical and multicultural cohesion.
