The Italian Embassy in Warsaw brought together more than 600 “runners” for the “Run on Together” event, a 5-kilometre run in the city’s Kepa Potocka Park.
The initiative, financed by Enit, in partnership with some of the main Italian companies operating in Poland, has the twofold aim of celebrating Italian-Polish friendship while launching a message of hope and optimism after over a year marked by the pandemic. It is no coincidence that the initiative has been called ”Run on Together”, precisely to convey the idea of two countries that want to turn over a new leaf by ”running” together out of the pandemic.
The event is also a charity fundraiser in favour of the “Paluch” animal shelter, the most important in the Polish capital, to which the citizens of Warsaw are very attached and to which all the registration fees were donated. Lastly, it was a great opportunity to promote Italy’s main tourist attractions projected on a giant screen, with a view to boosting tourism flows after the hardest months of the Covid crisis.
