The opportunities in the field of digital technologies for decarbonisation and the energy transition were the main topics discussed at the webinar organized by the Italian Embassy in Lisbon and COTEC Portugal (a Business Association for Innovation), together with the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Portugal, and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA). The online webinar was attended by over 100 companies. The Italian Ambassador, Carlo Formosa, opened the event and, together with the COTEC Director General, Jorge Portugal, they analysed the commitment made by the UN and the EU to reduce CO2 emissions. The webinar also assessed the possibility of accessing the resources made available by the national recovery and resilience plans (PNRRs) and the funds allocated by the EU for research and development. In one session of the webinar a debate was held between the representatives of two leading companies in the field of energy: the Italian ENERSEM and GALP, the main Portuguese company in the field. Lastly, a round table made it possible to present the different projects aimed at developing innovative solutions while, at the same time, mitigating environmental impacts.
