The Italian Embassy in Belgrade and the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade celebrated the 5th edition of the Italian Research Day in the World, with a conference called “Make science and technology ready for the next challenges”.
The initiative was a chance for Italian and Serbian scientists and researchers to meet and discuss the research policies and programmes that Italy and Serbia are setting up to face future scientific, technological, and social challenges. The initiative aims at acting as a forum to present and share national priorities, strategies, and programmes in the field of “research and innovation” and higher education, focusing on the most relevant areas of common interest.
In his opening speech, the Italian Ambassador, Carlo Lo Cascio, underlined that “in recent years, Italy and Serbia have launched ambitious reform programmes and promoted important investments” in the field of research. The Ambassador added that “these programmes recognize the key role of national research and innovation systems in facing the current social and economic challenges and improving the well-being of citizens.”
