“The Bát Tràng Ceramic Boots” exhibition in Hanoi

Gli stivali di ceramica Bat Trang
Hanoi, mostra "Gli stivali di ceramica Bát Tràng"

The exhibition “The Bát Tràng Ceramic Boots. An Inspiration from Italy” organized by the Italian Embassy in Hanoi, together with the Hon Dat Viet Bat Trang Art Museum (Bat Trang Museum), was opened on 10 April at Casa Italia, a centre for the promotion of Italian culture, language, products, and way of life in Vietnam, managed by the Embassy itself.

The exhibition will continue until 3 May. The full collection of 12 ceramic boots created by the late People’s Artisan Vu Thang, will be shown to the public for the first time. An invaluable legacy of contemporary Vietnamese art inspired by Italian fashion. The exhibition therefore builds an artistic bridge between Vietnam and Italy: classical Vietnamese elements, such as ceramic motifs and enamel colours, blend with Italian elegance and style. An artistic expression inspired by Italy, the “boot-shaped country”.

The Bat Trang Museum was founded thanks to the enthusiasm and efforts of Artisan Vu Thang after nearly 50 years of work with pottery.
