Italy participates in the Food&HotelAsia 2022 exhibition in Singapore, the most important event in Asia dedicated to tourism hospitality and the food and beverages sectors, where professionals and companies from all over the world get to meet. Over 60 Italian companies are present at the Italian Pavilion, organized by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Singapore.

Italian Ambassador to Singapore, Mario Vattani, opened the programme of the events. Vattani started Cucina Italia, a cooking show with over 31 meetings during which 8 Italian and non-Italian chefs prepare Italian dishes with ingredients provided by 14 Italian companies. There is also an area dedicated to wine, where masterclasses and tastings of the best Italian wines are held. Vattani said: “Year after year, Singaporeans are increasingly appreciating Italian food and wine. Italian exports of food and beverages to Singapore have grown by over 15% in 2021 compared to 2020.”

“It’s not just pasta, tomato sauce and olive oil. Italian wines were the drivers of this growth” explained the Ambassador, who also added that “Our wines embody the spirit of our territory, the variety of our regions and the roots of our thousand years of history. Over 60 Italian companies participate in the exhibition to make sure Italian culture keeps growing in Singapore, truly one of the world capitals of food.”
