The Italian Ambassador in Dar es Salaam, Marco Lombardi, expressed deep satisfaction at the success of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World in Tanzania, organised by the Italian Embassy and the ICE Foreign Trade Agency, in partnership with HYATT, Hamu, Dongwe Blue Jetty and Grandi Viaggi. The event – the Italian Ambassador underscored – also had important and tangible effects on the exchange of knowledge and on economic cooperation with our Tanzanian partners.

The events organised for the Week were held in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar and included the creation of original menus in line with the theme of the Week in 2022 relative to sustainability, innovation, and conviviality, by Chefs Gianmarco Di Girolami, Serena D’Alesio and Umberto Romano from the Blob and Seashore Restaurants.

To celebrate the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, a delegation from the Marche region led by the Mayor of Fermo, Paolo Calcinaro, traveled to the African Country. The delegation included Marche-based entrepreneurs and the head of the LISS “Carlo Urbani” School of Porto Sant’Elpidio, Mario Andrenacci, who signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National College of Tourism di Dar es Salaam on developing training courses in the hospitality and catering sectors.
