The Italian Ambassador to Portugal, Carlo Formosa, met today – at the Palace of São Bento, seat of the Parliament of the Portuguese Republic – with the members of the Portugal-Italy Friendship Parliamentary Group, chaired by the Social Democratic Party (PSD) MP, Andreia Neto, assisted by the two vice-Presidents, Jorge Botelho and João Torres, both from the Socialist Party.
During the meeting, the main elements that will make up the programme of activities for the current year in the dialogue with the Italian Embassy and the components of the so-called “Italian System” in Portugal were identified with the 12 members of the Group. On the occasion, a joint reflection was also launched on how to enhance the capabilities of Parliamentary diplomacy to further kindle the already extraordinary quality of bilateral relations between Italy and Portugal, already considering some initiatives that could contribute to further strengthen the strong ties of friendship and dialogue with the Italian Parliament.
