The Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai is currently promoting the presence of Italian companies at two important trade fairs held in China.
The 87th China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) is hosting an Italian pavilion, organised by the Italian Trade Agency – ICE, with 16 Italian top companies. The biomedical sector is a leading industry in Italy, with over 3,900 active companies, more than 76,000 employees, and a turnover of more than 16.5 billion euros between import and export. The CMEF is an opportunity to promote Italian companies in one of the largest medical device markets in the world.
The Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Tiziana D’Angelo, also inaugurated the Italian pavilion organised by the Italian Trade Agency – ICE at the Bakery China 2023 fair, which hosts Italian excellence in the bakery and confectionery sector. This sector is playing an increasingly important role in China and Italy is one of its privileged partners, being the third largest supplier country of bakery machinery with import values increasing by 54.8% year-on-year in 2022.
