Twelve years after its last tour in China, the Ballet of Rome is back to perform Romeo and Juliet in the main theatres of ten important cities – Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Jiangmen, Beijing, Wenzhou, Yiwu, Yangzhou, Hangzhou, Zhoushan, Shanghai – for a total of 13 shows.
The tour is supported by MAECI – together with the Italian Cultural Institutes of Beijing and Shanghai and the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou – along with the MIC, the Lazio Region, the Municipality of Rome and the Italy China Council Foundation, also to promote Rome’s candidacy to host Expo 2030.
The Ballet of Rome is the first major Italian performing arts company to resume live performances in China.
