On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, the Round Table Discussion Donne italiane in Polonia tra imprenditorialità e managerialità (Italian Women in Poland between Entrepreneurship and Managerialism) was held at the Italian Embassy in Warsaw. The event – opened by Ambassador Luca Franchetti Pardo – saw the participation of seven female “leaders” from different working environments, who talked about their respective experiences.

The closed-door discussion focused – in particular – on the current trends and opportunities in Poland for Italian women in entrepreneurship; the main challenges and obstacles faced by a woman entrepreneur/manager; the specific skills required by the Polish labour market, compared to those normally needed in Italy; and the possible availability of resources and incentives to support women in their career paths. The differences in the way of reconciling work-life responsibilities in Poland, compared to Italy, were also examined.

The outcomes of the Round Table Discussion will be summarised in a document that will be presented to a wider audience on a public occasion, scheduled for late next spring, also in view of women’s networking – a need strongly emphasised at today’s event that enabled several participants to meet for the first time.

The Round Table Discussion was organised by the Italian Embassy in Warsaw, jointly with Com.It.Es. Polonia and Confindustria Polonia.
