The mission organised by the Norwegian Embassy in Rome, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Oslo, and involving Italian companies and bodies active in the space sector in Norway, began on 11 June in Oslo. During the visit, led by the Italian Ambassador in Oslo Stefano Nicoletti and the Norwegian Ambassador in Rome Johan Vibe, the more than thirty participants met the State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry Tore Sandvik, the Director General of the Norwegian Space Agency (NOSA) Christian Hauglie-Hanssen, and representatives of Innovation Norway (an entity for the attraction of foreign investments in Norway).

On 12 June, the mission visited the new spaceport on the Norwegian island of Andøya, inside the Arctic Circle, which from this year will launch satellites into polar orbits. Participating in the mission were the President of the Italian Space Agency (ASI), Teodoro Valente, and the CEOs of 11 Italian companies operating in the space sector, as well as representatives of the Italian Air Force.

The two-day visit was aimed at consolidating opportunities for collaboration with Norway in the aerospace sector and the new Norwegian spaceport, as well as to cement the effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Italian and Norwegian space agencies in 2021.

During the visit, Italian Ambassador Stefano Nicoletti and Norwegian Ambassador to Rome Johan Vibe received a commemorative plaque from ASI President Teodoro Valente.
