On the occasion of the General Assembly of the International Hydrographic Organization, which ended on April 23 with the election of Admiral Luigi Sinapi as Secretary General of the International Hydrographic Organization, the Italian Navy destroyer Caio Duilio stopped in the port of Monte Carlo.

During the stopover on April 22, a high-profile international event was held on board to support Admiral Luigi Sinapi’s candidacy. The event was attended by the Ambassador of Italy, Manuela Ruosi, the Commander of the Caio Duilio, Captain Antonio Salvatore D’Amico, and Monaco’s Prime Minister Christophe Mirmand, as well as a large representation of IHO Member States, institutions, and global industry.

In her speech, Ambassador Ruosi highlighted Italy’s commitment to the safety of maritime navigation, to advancing knowledge of the oceans, and to adherence to the values of the IHO. She reaffirmed the central role of the Embassy of Italy in promoting and supporting bilateral relations, strengthening a constructive and lasting dialogue between the institutions involved.
