Italy’s Undersecretary of State to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, is on a mission to Kuwait, and today met with Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Sheikh Jarrah Al Jaber Al Sabah, and the Directors General of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
Undersecretary Tripodi and Deputy Minister Sheikh Jarrah Al Jaber Al Sabah, discussed “how the already excellent bilateral relations could be further developed, how the initiatives for the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations could be organised, and the main issues of regional interest”, said the Undersecretary.
As a result of the meetings with the Directors General of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, “I was able to examine in depth the follow-up to the agreements that the two institutes have recently signed with their Italian counterparts, the National Research Council of Italy and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti”, Tripodi added, underlining how this further improvement in Italy-Kuwait cooperation is the result of extraordinary teamwork. The agreement with the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research aims to launch new research collaborations in the coming months in the fields of food safety, water treatment, and renewable energy, while the agreement with the Kuwait Fund for Development aims to identify development projects of common interest to be jointly financed.
