The Italian Cultural Institute of Brussels is taking part in the “Sculptura #2” Festival, an exhibition of European sculpture and installation art returning to the historic Tour & Taxis park in Brussels from Friday 19 January to Sunday 10 March 2024.

After a successful first edition in 2023, which featured 23 artists, the 2024 edition of the exhibition will feature about 40 artists from more than 20 European countries. Each work will reflect the unique artistic heritage and contemporary vision of the artist and their country of origin. Italy will be represented by Giuseppe Licari’s workIl Giardino delle Mele d’Oro” (The Garden of the Golden Apples). The author, born in Sicily in 1980, is a multidisciplinary artist currently living and working in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. His work explores the socio-economic, cultural and political processes that have altered and continue to shape the environment. Focusing his attention on the intricate line between the natural and built environment, the artist explores the territories that emerge from their encounter with installations, performances, workshops, audio visual recordings and publications. His work has been exhibited, among others, at the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the Schloss Moyland Museum in Bedburg-Hau, the Japanese Palace in Dresden, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santiago, Chile.
