The exhibition “Italy: Garden of the World” was held from 19 to 28 May at the historic Antica Casa Beban in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego. The event was organised by the Consulate General of Italy in Bahía Blanca and the Honorary Consular Agency of Italy in Ushuaia, in collaboration with the Municipality of Ushuaia.
“Italy: Garden of the World” is a photographic and editorial project that showcases the richness and diversity of Italian gardens, establishing a continuity and dialogue with the stunning setting of Ushuaia – at the “End of the World” – where nature reveals some of its most extreme and captivating forms.
The exhibition was aimed not only at a specialist audience, including academics and landscape design professionals, but also attracted considerable interest from the general public. With its dual cultural and educational purpose, the exhibition sought not only to promote the uniqueness of the Italian garden, but also to raise greater awareness of the importance of preserving natural heritage.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ushuaia’s Secretary of Culture and Education, María Belén Molina, and included the awarding of the honour of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy to the Honorary Consular Agent of Italy in Ushuaia, Moreno Salvatore, in recognition of his efforts to promote friendship between Italy and Argentina.
