On Friday, 19 September, during a new edition of the Fare Cinema Festival, the Consulate General of Italy in Rosario, in collaboration with El Cairo Cine Público, ACEK, Rai Cinema, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, and the Lazio Region, will present the documentary film Acqua e zucchero: i colori della vita (Water and Sugar: The Colors of Life). This documentary film explores the brilliant mind of cinematographer Carlo Di Palma, featuring interviews with the leading directors who worked with him: Wim Wenders, Bernardo Bertolucci, and Woody Allen, among others.
The documentary film is not only the story of Di Palma’s artistic career, but also a true journey through Italian cinema through more than one hundred films on which he collaborated, ranging from the Neorealism of Visconti, De Sica, and Rossellini to the Italian-style comedy of Monicelli, Scola, and Germi, to the masterpieces that have marked the history of world cinema such as “Red Desert” and “Blow Up.”
