Arrival in Italy of a group of Palestinian students from the Gaza Strip
(Ciampino Airport – 31st Wing, 1 October 2025)
On Wednesday, 1 October 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m. subject to confirmation of the actual departure time from Jordan, a special flight carrying a group of Palestinian students and researchers from the Gaza Strip will land at Rome – Ciampino Military Airport. They will be welcomed in Italy under scholarship programmes. The initiative also includes a group of Palestinian citizens arriving in Italy for the purpose of family reunification.
Representing the Government, the group will be welcomed at Ciampino Airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, together with the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, who is currently travelling to Jordan to accompany the students on their journey to Italy.
Through this operation, a total of 70 people will arrive in the country, including approximately 40 students and researchers holding scholarships at Italian universities. Transportation from Jordan will be carried out by two flights of the Guardia di Finanza to Rome Ciampino and Milan Linate. The flights have been organised with the support of Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), Civil Protection, and the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
Journalists, photographers and cameramen wishing to cover the arrival are kindly invited to apply for accreditation by sending their request—including full name, place and date of birth, telephone number, a copy of their ID, and professional identity card—to accreditamentostampa@esteri.it by 2:00 p.m. today, Wednesday 1 October 2025.
Those intending to park their vehicle at the airport (restricted military area) are also asked to provide the make and registration number of the vehicle to the above address.
Accredited media representatives are requested to be present at Ciampino Military Airport by 7:30 p.m.
