The Embassy of Italy in Tehran has been following the case of the minor F. since the first report in November 2023.
Her father, Mr. Andrea Papale, arrived in Iran early November and requested a temporary travel document for his daughter to leave the country. Her mother, who was temporarily absent from the country but was contacted by telephone, repeatedly informed the Embassy of Italy that she did not consent to her daughter’s expatriation from Iran in her absence. The minor, who also holds British and Iranian citizenship, is currently residing in Tehran with her mother. The Italian Embassy is working to facilitate an agreement between the parents. The first hearing of the petition for custody of the minor at the Court of Caltagirone is scheduled for January 2026.
