PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE UPDATE
18th CONFERENCE OF ITALIAN AMBASSADORS
MILAN, 17-18 DECEMBER 2025

On Wednesday, 17 December 2025, as part of the 18th Conference of Italian Ambassadors in the World, the third edition of the National Export Conference will take place in Milan.

This will be followed on Thursday, 18 December by the Conference “Italian Universities Abroad”, dedicated to the internationalisation of the Italian University System, and a working session on “Finance and Diplomacy for Growth”.

Throughout the programme, numerous distinguished representatives from business and trade associations will participate.

All events will be open to the press.

On Wednesday, 17 December, from 10:00 a.m., the third edition of the National Export and Internationalisation Conference will be held at Fiera Milano Rho, organised in collaboration with ITA, CDP, SIMEST and SACE. The programme will feature interventions by Antonio Tajani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Francesco Lollobrigida, Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, Emanuele Orsini, President of Confindustria and Valentino Valentini, Deputy Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy. India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, will address the meeting with a video message.

Several thematic panels will include contributions from leading representatives of associations, companies, and the sports sector.

In the panel “The Voice of Companies“, representatives from industry associations will discuss export support strategies and the value of dialogue between companies and institutions to seize opportunities in foreign markets and respond to the current challenges and problematic issues of international trade.

The panel “The Role of Large Enterprises in Supporting SME Supply Chains” will discuss the extent to which large and medium-sized enterprises can facilitate SMEs’ access to new business opportunities, transfer innovation throughout the supply chain, strengthen the country’s competitiveness, and make Made in Italy products grow in foreign markets.

The panel “New Geographies of Exports: Opening and Developing Markets to Make Italy Grow Worldwide” will discuss companies’ and institutions’ priorities for action to protect and develop Italy’s global commercial presence.

The panel “Sports Diplomacy – From Milan Cortina 2026 to the World: Mountains and the International Reach of Made in Italy” will explore the role of mountains as an ecosystem for innovation, sustainability, and the promotion of Made in Italy products. Sport as a driving force for the internationalization of Italian companies and a showcase for the country abroad.

The morning session will close with remarks by Minister Tajani, while the afternoon will continue with meetings between companies, ambassadors, and representatives of the Italian System, as well as thematic sessions on export support tools led by ITA, CDP, SACE, and SIMEST. In parallel with the Conference’s thematic sessions, face-to-face meetings will take place between Ambassadors, Directors of ITA Offices abroad, experts from CDP, SACE, and Simest, and representatives of companies and associations to explore development opportunities in foreign markets.

Press accreditation allows journalists, photographers and cameramen to enter Fiera Milano Rho, Strada Statale 33 del Sempione 28main entrance, south gate, between 08:30 a.m. and 09:30 a.m.

On Thursday, 18 December, from 09:00 a.m., the Conference on the Internationalisation of the Italian University System will take place at the Aula Magna of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. Speakers will include Elena Beccalli, Rector of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Laura Ramaciotti, President of the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) and Francesco Profumo, President of Uni-Italia.

The conference aims to bring together key actors involved in the internationalisation of the Italian academic system: universities themselves, alongside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its global network. The meeting will provide an opportunity to review the current situation, reaffirm common objectives in a constantly evolving geopolitical scenario, and discuss synergic strategies to achieve them.

Journalists, photographers and cameramen may present themselves at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Aula Magna, main entrance, Largo A. Gemelli 1, from 08:00 a.m. to 08:45 a.m.

Following this, a working session at Borsa Italiana (Palazzo Mezzanotte) will focus on collaboration between diplomacy and the financial sector to support Italy’s internationalisation and growth. Interventions will include Fabrizio Testa, CEO of Borsa Italiana, Valerio De Molli, CEO of The European House Ambrosetti and representatives from the banking, insurance, and finance sectors. The session is scheduled to conclude at 1:00 p.m. and press accreditation allows entry to Borsa Italiana (Palazzo Mezzanotte), Piazza degli Affari 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

 

SINGLE ACCREDITATION PROCEDURE FOR THE THREE EVENTS

Journalists, photographers and cameramen wishing to attend the Milan events are requested to register by 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 16 December, via email at accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06/3691-3432-8573-3078), specifying the event(s) of interest:

For representatives of the Italian press organisations:

  • a copy of the identity document;
  • a letter of assignment from the newspaper of affiliation or – in the absence of the latter -, a copy of professional identity card.

For representatives of foreign press organisations not accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

  • a copy of the identity document;
  • letter from the newspaper of affiliation;
  • Verbal note of the Embassy in Rome of the country of the press organisation represented.

For representatives of foreign press already accredited at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the request must be sent with a copy of an identity document attached.

WhatsApp group will be created shortly before the event for communications with accredited press. Those wishing to join should include their phone number in the accreditation request.

Television live coverage will be permitted only using a backpack.
