ROMANIA – from Bocelli to Verdi, Italian music in Bucharest

Italian music takes centre-stage in Bucharest, with a hugely successful concert by Andrea Bocelli that attracted an audience of over 4000. The tenor performed a selection of arias and traditional Italian songs, including duets with soprano Angela Gheorgiu and counter-tenor Cezar Ouatu. They were accompanied by classical guitarists Carlo Corrieri and Magdalena Kaltcheva, and the orchestra and choir of Radio Romania conducted by Marcello Rota. The event was organised by the Italian Embassy as part of the 2013 Italian Festival. Read more, in Italian.
