The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, today replied to a letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, regarding the case of Italian national Nessy Guerra, who has been prevented from leaving Egypt together with her young daughter, Aisha.
Minister Tajani had written to Abdelatty to request the fullest cooperation in relation to the complex judicial matter centred on the legal protection in Egypt of Aisha. The Egyptian Minister confirmed that the issue, which is well known to him and which he is personally following, is “under the attention of the Egyptian authorities”, specifying that he has “already acted upon the request for judicial assistance submitted by the Italian Ministry of Justice”.
Abdelatty further informed Tajani that “the necessary decisions have been taken and the Embassy of Italy in Cairo is regularly kept informed of all developments and measures adopted in this regard, with a view to further strengthening judicial cooperation and the management of dossiers concerning citizens of the two countries”.
