Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani asked the Italian Ambassador to Israel, Luca Ferrari, to take a further formal step with the Israeli authorities to request that all Italian citizens participating in the Flotilla to Gaza be treated with dignity, be afforded full protection, and have their safety guaranteed during any administrative, security or logistical operations carried out by the local authorities.
In accordance with international law and existing consular conventions, the Embassy has asked the competent Israeli authorities to take all necessary measures to safeguard the physical well-being and fundamental rights of Italian citizens.
