Collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and 1000 Miglia to promote Italian excellence

Collaborazione tra Farnesina e 1000 Miglia per promuovere le eccellenze italiane
Collaborazione tra Farnesina e 1000 Miglia per promuovere le eccellenze italiane

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has launched a collaboration with 1000 Miglia – a symbol of Italian automotive excellence, ingenuity, creativity and tradition – with the aim of strengthening the international presence of the Freccia Rossa, taking the values, history and culture of Made in Italy beyond national borders.

At a time when Italy’s heritage is being recognised, enhanced and celebrated globally, 1000 Miglia thus becomes a platform for promoting Italian excellence and, thanks to the extensive reach and prestige of the Ministry’s network of Embassies, Consulates and Italian Cultural Institutes, many countries will host events and initiatives linked to the history of the Freccia Rossa.

This collaboration takes the form of cultural initiatives such as photo exhibitions, themed days, displays of historic cars, licensed events and projects dedicated to Italy’s automotive heritage.

The project aims to strengthen cultural tourism, foster new collaborations between Italian companies and international partners, and create opportunities for exchange and networking, thus strengthening the reputation of Italian excellence and the appeal of the regions, whilst supporting production chains, art and design.

Following its debut at the Italian Cultural Institute in Miami, which last year hosted the photo exhibition “1000 Miglia tra paesaggi e borghi storici italiani”, the calendar of upcoming exhibitions and events includes participation from other prestigious Italian Diplomatic Missions and Italian Cultural Institutes:

  • April 11: Canberra, Photo Exhibition at the residence of the Ambassador of Italy to Australia;
  • April 15: Tokyo, on the occasion of the Made in Italy Day, exhibition of a 1957 Fiat Abarth 750 Zagato at the Embassy of Italy;
  • May 12: Geneva, Photo Exhibition at the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations;
  • May 24: Indianapolis, Photo Exhibition to mark the 500 Miglia, in collaboration with the Consulates of Italy in Detroit and Indianapolis;
