On the afternoon of Monday 20 April 2026, the Italy–Kenya Business Forum will be held at the Hotel Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria in Rome.
Kenya’s economy remains among the most dynamic in East Africa, with GDP growth of 4.7% in 2024 and projections of around 5% for 2025. Kenya is part of the Mattei Plan and, since 2024, has been covered by the Economic Partnership Agreement between Kenya and the European Union, aimed at strengthening trade in goods and creating new economic opportunities.
The Forum will focus on key sectors offering the greatest potential for bilateral economic cooperation: agribusiness and leather, enabling the enhancement of Kenya’s abundant natural resources and raw materials through advanced technologies, technical expertise and processing capabilities typical of Italian industry; infrastructure, energy and connectivity, which are essential to support Kenya’s economic and urban development through investment, advanced technologies and Italian engineering expertise; innovation and finance, reflecting Kenya’s ambition to become a venture capital and innovation hub in East Africa; and tourism, as both Italy and Kenya place strong emphasis on tourism as a driver of economic growth.
The final session will be open to the press, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., featuring interventions by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, Musalia Mudavadi.
