Minister Tajani at the Italy-Kenya Business Forum tomorrow

Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani will participate in the Italy-Kenya Business Forum, scheduled for tomorrow, April 20, at the Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Rome. The President of the Republic of Kenya, William Ruto, and the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Musalia Mudavadi, will also be attending the Forum.

The event is of strategic importance for Italy: Kenya is a key country for the implementation of the Mattei Plan, a country with which Italy maintains excellent bilateral relations, and a player committed to safeguarding multilateralism and regional stability in a strategic region like East Africa.

Kenya is one of the most attractive markets for Italy in sub-Saharan Africa, thanks to its geographical location and the presence of special economic zones. In 2025 bilateral trade reached €280 million, a 34.1% increase compared to 2024; among European countries, Italy ranks after Germany, the United Kingdom, and France.

Economic relations between the two countries provide significant opportunities, particularly in the agribusiness and leather sectors, and in the strategic infrastructure and energy sectors. The Forum, which has more than 200 registered Italian entrepreneurs, is an excellent opportunity to explore new forms of collaboration.

During the Forum, Minister Tajani will also have a bilateral meeting with the Kenyan Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Musalia Mudavadi. The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss relations between the two countries within the framework of the Mattei Plan and key international issues, including the situation in Sudan.
