On 26 April 2026, the 4th edition of the “MaraTANA – the Italian run in Buenos Aires” took place between Puerto Madero and Costanera Sur, as a celebration of Italian–Argentine friendship and the value of sport. The event, promoted by the Italian Consulate General in Buenos Aires, is an initiative dedicated to the largest Italian community abroad and symbolises the encounter and sharing of roots and the unique bonds between the two communities.
The initiative was organised with the technical partner “Club de Corredores”, under the patronage of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, the CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee) delegation and Com.It.Es. (Committees of Italians Abroad). Around 4,000 participants gathered this year in the vibrant district of Puerto Madero, along the capital’s waterfront, with the start from Avenida de los Italianos, near which a dedicated “Italy Space” was set up.
MaraTANA celebrates Italian identity, culture, sport diplomacy and lifestyle, bringing together the Italian-Argentine community in Buenos Aires and promoting solidarity; a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Community of Sant’Egidio, which supports vulnerable people in the city.
