On 23 August 2026, the 21st edition of the Palermo–Monte Carlo, one of the most prestigious offshore regattas in the Mediterranean, organised by the Circolo della Vela Sicilia in conjunction with the Yacht Club de Monaco and in collaboration with the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, came to a close with its arrival in the Principality of Monaco.
The closing awards ceremony was attended, alongside the Monegasque authorities, by the Ambassador of Italy to the Principality of Monaco, Manuela Ruosi; the Mayor of Palermo, Roberto Lagalla; the President of the Circolo della Vela Sicilia, Agostino Randazzo; and the Commander of the Guardia di Finanza Sailing Unit, Francesco Nerone, underscoring the event’s institutional and international significance.
Whilst presenting the prizes to the winning crews, Ambassador Ruosi emphasised that the regatta continues to be a key event on the international sailing calendar and an opportunity for countries united by their maritime heritage to come together, with sport fostering dialogue and cooperation in the Mediterranean.
