Undersecretary Scalfarotto participated today in the inauguration event of Milan Fashion Week 2020. During the event the solidarity campaign “China, we are with you” was launched by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (National Chamber of Italian Fashion).
The initiative includes a digital exhibition of the new collections of eight emerging Chinese designers who had the opportunity to interact in streaming mode with the activities of Milano Fashion Week 2020 through digital channels from China.
“On behalf of the Government, I would like to express my closeness and support to the Chinese people affected by the terrible Coronavirus epidemic in recent weeks,” recalled Scalfarotto. “This year marks the fiftieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries, relations that have been mutually strengthened over the years. Fashion is a clear example of this collaboration. Suffice it to say that a third of global consumers of Italian luxury products are Chinese and Italy is the second country for exports of fashion and luxury goods to China. I hope that this campaign can help spread a message of confidence and courage to our Chinese friends”.
The President of the National Chamber of Fashion Carlo Capasa and the Assessor Cristina Tajani of the City of Milan also attended the inauguration.
