Promoting Religious Freedom and Peaceful Coexistence (Farnesina, 11 February 2013)

On Monday 11 February an international workshop on “Promoting Religious Freedom and Peaceful Coexistence” will take place at the Foreign Ministry in Rome. The event will discuss the most effective communication strategies to spread the values of tolerance and respect for cultural diversity. Participants include representatives of universities and research centres in Italy and abroad, and of the media. The event is a follow-up to the side event on “Civil Society and Education on Human Rights as a tool for promoting religious tolerance”. The side event was organised by Italy and co-chaired by Jordan on 27 September 2012 at the United Nations in New York, in the margins of the opening week of the 67th UN General Assembly.

Representatives of the press may follow Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi’s opening address.

Journalists, photographers and TV crews interested in following Minister Terzi’s opening address should apply for accreditation using the online accreditation system.
