Minister Moavero with a delegation of the US Congress led by Senator Lindsey Graham

Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, had a meeting at the Farnesina with US Senator Lindsey Graham, Chair of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, and with the delegation that accompanied him, which included Senators John Barrasso, Chris Coons, Ben Sasse and Congressman Michael McCaul. Senator Graham, whom Minister Moavero had already met in Washington last 3 April and who, as an eminent member of the Republican Party, has long and authoritatively been involved in foreign policy issues. The in-depth discussion reaffirmed the strategic importance for Italy of their consolidated transatlantic relations and reviewed the most relevant ongoing issues on the international scene, with a special focus on the situation in Libya and in the Mediterranean Basin, and on relations with China and Russia.
