The Foreign Ministry expresses great satisfaction for the release of Italian journalist Mauro Donato, who was detained in Serbia last 16 March.
The continuous efforts to sensitize Serbian Authorities by the Italian Foreign Ministry and Embassy, both in Belgrade and Rome, has led to the release of the Italian citizen, who is on his way back to his family in Italy.
The Embassy provided daily consular assistance to the journalist, visiting him regularly during his entire detention in Serbia.
The Foreign Ministry’s Directorate General for Italians Abroad, with the necessary support of the diplomatic and consular network, thus renews its unrelenting effort to protect and assist Italian citizens in difficulty outside Italy.
