Award for Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The web portal “Il visto per l’Italia” (http://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home.aspx) received the “Premio 10×10 – 100 progetti per cambiare la PA” award yesterday at the “La Nuvola” Conference Centre in Rome.

The award was received by project creators, Alberto Colella and Raffaella Gaggiano, and the Director  General for Italians Abroad, Luigi Vignali.

“Il Visto per l’Italia” is available in English, Russian, Arabic and Chinese, in addition to Italian, and helps foreign citizens who need an entry visa to find the information needed to submit an application quickly and clearly.
By answering four simple questions (country of citizenship and residence, purpose and length of stay), applicants will receive an immediate and personalised reply telling them what kind of visa to apply for, where to submit the application, which forms they need to complete and how much the visa will cost.

It is an easy-to-use tool which provides all the essential information quickly and in a personalised way. Last year, the portal recorded around two million hits.

The PA Forum Award follows the “Innovation Award 2016” last year from SMAU, Italy’s leading forum dedicated to information technologies and communication (http://www.smau.it/bologna16/success_stories/visti-per-litalia-un-nuovo-portale/).

The portal also received a “Special Mention” at the 2016 “Premio Buone Prassi – La Farnesina che Innova” competition (https://www.esteri.it/mae/it/trasparenza_comunicazioni_legali/altri-contenuti-canale/altri-contenuti-dati-ulteriori/buoneprassi).
