To wind up its activities for 2016, the Italian Cultural Institute in Buenos Aires has organised at 7 p.m. on 14 December a Christmas concert entitled “Amor mi fa cantar” by the In Pro Ibis ensemble, which has long been performing Medieval music in Buenos Aires. The concert will include songs from both the sacred and secular repertory of Italian medieval music performed according to the canons of the time, wearing period costumes drawn from miniatures and paintings and played on instruments made by Italian luthiers from documented images and frescoes of the time. The concert will be followed by the traditional New Year’s toast in the Sala Roma, which will be hosting the “Christmas Tree” exhibition by architect Antonietta Tucci, in which the artist revisits the concept of Christmas Tree by creating samples made with recycled materials, presenting them in an unusual guise with a highly symbolic value.
