The Consulate General of Italy in Bahía Blanca staged an opera gala devoted entirely to the creativity of the great Italian composers.
The Symphony Orchestra of the Organismos Artísticos del Sur (OAS), the Bahía Blanca Resident Choir and special guest sopranos and tenors—more than 120 performers in total—performed arias and music by Donizetti, Mascagni, Puccini, Respighi, Rossini and Verdi before a very large audience at Bahía Blanca’s Teatro Gran Plaza.
As Consul General Nicola Bazzani said: “This wonderful event, dedicated to Italian opera, is part of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, which this year celebrates the creative genius of the Italian language and the unifying value of the Italian-speaking community as a cultural, social and economic bridge between Italy and Argentina.”
