The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expresses concern for Israel’s decision, announced yesterday, to annex 234 hectares of land in the West Bank, south of Jericho.
The decision, by increasing the land available for new settlements, contributes to undermining the two-State solution, which is the only one capable of assuring the Israeli and Palestinian people a future of peace and security.
The Italian Foreign Minister hopes that Israel will revise its decision and calls on both Parties to abstain from taking actions liable to increase tension, and to commit to fostering the prompt resumption of peace negotiations.
