The Italian Embassy in Washington will host the annual conference of the Italian Scientists and Scholars in North America Foundation (ISSNAF) on 17 and 18 October. The occasion will offer the members of Italy’s scientific community an opportunity to meet with representatives of institutions, the industry and the academic world and to discuss innovative ideas in terms of networking. During the event, young Italian researchers from various sectors will be presented with awards by the ISSNAF Young Investigators. The conference gathers eminent Italian scientists and researchers working in North America, as well as representatives of the industry and of institutions. It is organised by Italy’s Ambassador in Washington, Armando Varricchio, the Italian Foreign Ministry and the ministries of Education and Research (MIUR) and Health, under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic.
This year’s meeting will focus on spearheading innovation through science by exploring scientific inventions and transformations, research, new ideas and approaches that will ultimately become reality, as well as their impact on our mentality and way of life. The event’s opening speeches will be delivered by Ambassador Varricchio, dignitaries and the President and Executive Director of ISSNAF. They will be followed the event’s first discussion Panel, which will focus on investment opportunities in Italy’s research and innovation sector. The event will also feature the presentation to the international community of the Human Technopole, the new research and innovation centre to be built in Milan.
