Toronto – Cinema, selections start for the Italian Contemporary Film Festival

The engines are warming up for the 2016 edition of the Italian Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF): the fifth edition will run from June 9 to 17 and will involve the most important cities of Canada (Toronto, Montreal, Quebec, Hamilton and Niagara, Mississauga and Vaughan). Event organisers have opened applications for the submission of short films. The Italian Contemporary Film Festival is one of the most important celebrations of Italian culture in North America, presenting the best of international cinema produced in Italy or with Italian contents, whether feature fiction films, documentaries or short films.

For the international shorts section (Italian short films and/or those with contents connected to Italy), applications must be received by March 31. The duration of the works in the contest is 10 minutes, with the request for subtitles in English and/or French for short films in Italian. All the films selected at the Festival will enter the contest for the “ICFF Best Short Award”. A panel comprising Canadian artists and personalities of the sector will choose the winning short film. For the 2015 edition, the panel consisted of: Eli Glasner, journalist of the Cbc; R. Bruce Elder, director and Sarah Gadon, actress. The films must be sent through the Festhome and Filmfreeway platforms, no later than March 31, 2016.
