New York – Exhibition “La luce del Sud Italia” and 19th century painting

The exhibition “La luce del Sud Italia Dipinti della Scuola Napoletana del XIX secolo”, hosted through 5 November by the Italian Cultural Institute of New York offers a journey through the South of Italy, the Mediterranean and its colours, from the excavations of Pompei to the majesty of Vesuvius, the jagged coastline and the charm of its inhabitants. The series of 34 paintings on display, on loan from private collections, are from the 19th century Neapolitan school and this is the first time they are being shown in the United States. The exhibition’s curator, Marco Bertoli, has been a Christie’s Auction House consultant since 2005. Read more, in Italian.
