Los Angeles: a journey through Italian design

A journey through the iconic creations of Italian designers and design companies. This is the proposal of the  Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles with the exhibition opening on September 23, hosted in the Institute’s premises and curated by Mattia Biagi, 2021 ambassador of Italian design.

Bringing Italian design and creativity to a broad audience has been one of Biagi’s goals ever since he moved to Los Angeles 18 years ago. Mattia Biagi has created installations in numerous galleries and museums around the world, such as the Palais de Tokyo and the Louvre Abu Dhabi, including video installations and large-scale works. His work is part of permanent collections in American and Italian museums such as the Mint Museum and Castello di Rivara. His aim with the exhibition “A Journey Through Italian Design” is to lead the viewer to discover a selection of Italian design classics. Italy is internationally renowned for transforming basic materials such as wood, fabric, glass, stone and plastic into true works of art through the talent and knowledge of our craftsmen
