IIC Stockholm: “The acrobats” by Iurato in Covid-19 time

Ten illustrated tables to tell women’s lives in the Coronavirus era. ” The acrobats, Suspended days in Covid-19 time – Stockholm 2020″ is a graphic project by Ramona Iurato, born from the artist’s personal reflection on the female universe in such an extraordinary moment as the lockdown. The tables, created for the Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm, will be discovered one by one, from today to June 17th, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on the Institute’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

The project tells about worried but resilient women, tenacious workers in smart working and at the same time committed to follow children who require more attention. Women who live motherhood between cancelled medicals and necessary controls, women forced into a home that is not always safe and who suffer violence too often, and then again women able to push the boundaries beyond family walls with their imagination.

Ramona Iurato explores women’s humanity in a 360-degree view, aiming at a new challenge, with a style that winks at the contemporaneity through the combination of intense and vivid colours.
