The project entitled ‘Fragments of nature’ marked the 15th edition of the Italian Contemporary Art Day in Kenya. Promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Nairobi, the project enjoyed the participation of Italian and Kenyan conceptual and street artists. The show opened both in Nairobi and in Malindi. In Nairobi, the display featured four works that the Italian conceptual artist Mattia Campo Dall’Orto of the Macross Association created together with two local artists, Bank Slave and Msaleh, by using parts of an old 1968 Fiat 850 Sport car, a graffiti painting which decorates a wall of the Art Cabinet Gallery and another mural at the Railway Museum – BSQ Art Studio. Paul Onditti, one of Kenya’s most celebrated artists, hosted the show in one of his facilities. In Malindi, Mattia Campo Dall’Orto displayed a large painting on a wooden panel, which was donated to the local Municipality where it can be admired in the foyer.
