Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini has expressed her “great sorrow” over the killing of the three young Israelis kidnapped a few weeks ago. “We feel the utmost sympathy for Israel at this time of deep mourning. I wish to convey my own and the entire Italian Government’s condolences to the Israeli Government and people for this murder, which we condemn most firmly. I hope that full light will be shed upon what has happened and that those responsible for this cowardly act are brought to justice as soon as possible”.
“I appeal to all parties concerned to show that anyone who attacks Israel’s security will not prevail by undermining the pathway of dialogue, the only hope for a true and lasting peace in the region”, declared Minister Mogherini.
