With the “Farnesina Verde” award, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation extends environment sustainability standards to the entire foreign network.
Our Embassies will be encouraged to develop initiatives in three macroareas: waste reuse and disposal; energy saving and efficiency improvement; reduced plastic use. The most impacting and innovative projects shall receive accolades and special mentions. Projects may be submitted in this very period and the prize will be awarded in July.
Furthermore, in order to enhance best energy saving practices and promote sustainable lifestyles, the “Roma Mobilità” project shall be further developed by entering into new agreements with agencies and service providers operating in the sustainable mobility sector. Novel solutions shall be added to the measures, previously introduced by the Ministry, which incentivise the use of bicycles, such as the installation of changing rooms for staff members who resort to this means of transport.
