The Farnesina International Conferences Hall will host today the second appointment of the “Global Days” programme, which features a number of initiatives focusing on internationally relevant topics, with a view to sharing knowledge and best practices.
Falling within the scope of the “Youth4Climate” initiative and of the recent Cop27, the event will highlight the role the younger generations play in the ecological transition and in the fight against climate change. The event will also kickstart the training programme funded by the Farnesina and set up by IRENA, aimed at consolidating the expertise of young leaders and international activists in terms of energy transition and climate change.
The event will also commemorate Piero Angela, a great populariser of culture and science who was truly ahead of his time; he managed to engage the public and the younger generations in an authoritative way, raising their awareness as to climate change-related issues. Secretary-General, Ettore Francesco Sequi, will deliver the opening speech, after which historical and scientific populariser Alberto Angela shall take the floor.
The event will be attended by many renowned figures from the world of science and communication, from international organisations, and by Diplomatic Corps representatives accredited in Italy. There will also be a session for dialogue between a group of youths, coming from different regions of the world and committed in combating climate change, and a qualified panel of experts.
