The Italian Cultural Institute in Cologne – in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institutes in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart, and Zurich – presents the 2022 edition of the project: “Strega da leggere│Strega da ascoltare.

Incontri con il romanzo italiano di oggi” (“Strega to Read/Strega to Hear. Encounters with Modern-day Italian Fiction”). Drawn from an idea launched by the Italian Cultural Institutes in Vienna and Hamburg which proposed the first edition in 2020, the project – in partnership with the Fondazione Bellonci and the Italian publishing companies that published the books in the contest – aims to create a brief review of the excerpts from 12 novels competing for the Strega Prize 2022, published in the original version with parallel text translation. The excerpts can be read at and heard at  from today, 31 May, through to 30 July 2022.

The following are the authors and the titles competing for the 2022 edition:
